I do not like this feature or the fact that I can not turn it off.
Especially the 'read slashdot for [x] consecutive days' part.
This is an encroachment of my privacy, where is it going to stop? Are you going to list the dates and times I have read slashdot, and what stories? There goes my job.
Kind of surprising and shocking, that slashdot would be the one to sell my privacy down the river like this... And not even to the lowest bidder.. JUST DID IT, FOR NO REASON AT ALL.
My method correctly determines your score. Oddly, it was off by one for elvadojohn's score. At first I thought it was his WoW username giving him an extra point, but CmdrTaco has a WoW username too, and his score didn't have the extra point. (Not talking about the level 80 achievement; I included that.)
Yeah, but you didn't get retroactively given achievements for all of them. CmdrTaco didn't say that... only that some achievements were given retroactively.
You have 25 achievements. It says so right at the top of the list.
Each achievement has two numbers (missing numbers are ones).
The thin small letter is the base point value. The bold large letter is the number of times you got it. The total value is their sum minus one.
"2,8 Got a Score:5 Comment" is worth 2+8-1 = 9 points. The base value is 2, and for every additional time you get that achievement, you get 1 extra point.
It works out correctly for every user I've tried adding up, with the odd exception of eldavojohn as I mentioned before...
We warn the reader in advance that the proof presented here depends on a
clever but highly unmotivated trick.

I've got about 2^6 of those myself.

Yeah, they are. I promise you that I've read Slashdot for more than a month straight [slashdot.org] at times, and that I have more than 256 +5 comments.

Yep, where $achievementvalue = log2($achievementthreshold)
