I (and many many others) have an achievement [slashdot.org] called "The Maker"... what does that mean? It's not listed in the FAQ.
Also, how are you computing the total number of Achievements? If you add up my achievements (and if I add the powers of two I get closer) but it doesn't come out to be the number you posted.
Also, if I have CmdrTaco's attention, why not leave this up? You've written the code for it and although it will certainly tax your database (default awards were handed out on different days)

This seems like something that should be nothing but a joke, but it looks like it is going to be around after the first. I suppose this is where I should whine about websites messing with a good thing.
Well some of the dates are wrong, (some of the stuff is stuff i achieved years ago and it says i did last month it says i got the journal entry achievement 2-20-2009 when I last posted a journal entry about 4 or 5 years ago) This actually looks pretty cool and i wouldn't mind keeping this. Just DONT make a first post achievement, we have enough people trying to get that already.:P
well, in favour of it, most of the others are based around 'score at archiving'.
On the other hand, the title of the acheivement could be read to imply that those who have posted here simply to obtain the achievement have, indeed, been fooled.
Actually, I take back the part about static achievements... several users have posted that this was their first comment, and checking their achievements shows that they do actually have the "posted a comment" achievement (and the "had a comment modded up" achievement, too, if their comment was).
What about if your comment implying that the faq comment that implied it will stay around is part of the joke? Hell maybe this comment implying your comment is part of the joke may itself be part of the joke.
A fellow could go mad thinking about this stuff. Who knows how far down the rabbit hole goes.
if you're suffering from the lack of ponies, try StackOverflow [stackoverflow.com], and its (possibly today only) Cornify button (select a question first, you might have to click it a couple of times).
Wait. We're supposed to dare to click on that link?
Damn you, April 1st!
Hm, perhaps that can be an achievement: dared to click a link resemblin goatse.
I admit, it would be fun to have a skinnable Slashdot, where we could select from the traditional Nerdy-Green theme, the OMGPonies!1! theme, generally whatever else. Cool beans.
And, I admit, achievements are pretty neat. It'd be nifty of the achievement displays in our achievements listing were linked to what the criteria are, though.

No, and I've also found one user [slashdot.org] whose achievements don't sum up as I would expect [slashdot.org].
