How many people do you know of who have iphones for 5 year?? Everyone I know who gets iphones gets a new one at 2 years, minimum.
The five year shit is for the secondary market. So that's where your average consumer fits in, cost wise, since most people don't need to take out a loan (err payment plan) to afford either a 2-3 year used iphone or a new mid-low range android.
I'd love 5 years and no google but fucking hell, Apple and its shit iOS and all its €20 apps can suck it.
Calling iOS an "inferior" OS is total delusion. iOS is years ahead of Android, both from user's and developer's perspectives. It's slick, convenient and well-thought-out. It's the iOS that sell iphones, without it they truly would be overpriced pieces of junk with mediocre hardware.
I'm a devloper on android, and you claim its better from developers perspectives? please tell me how the iOS is years ahead of android? Oh its because you program and target their APIs directly? Then you're a €20 app developer, go fuck yourself.
Cross platform capabilities are easy easy with many frameworks that give near native speed. And you can't tell me unless you're doing some shit 3D clone of some shit 3D game that you need 'low level API access'.
I bought this 6s in 2015 and I appreciate the fact that this device that cost more than my laptop is still getting updates. You may be happy with something costing £800 being abandoned by the manufacturer after 18 months but I don't think it's unreasonable to expect them to continue to support their products for longer.
